Integrity , Reliability, Dedication— Three essential elements for success. Separately, these attributes spell good business; together they represent a great one — Northwest Honda and BMW
In 1987, Ed & Ina Dreiband embarked on a journey of a lifetime when they made the decision to fulfill their lifelong dream of purchasing and running a successful automotive dealership. Ed and Ina believed then as they do now, that running a successful business meant treating employees and customers with the utmost respect — essentially, treating them the way they would want to be treated. And thus, Northwest was born on one solid and steadfast principle:
The Golden Rule:Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Ed and Ina emphatically believe this “Rule” is the recipe for success not only in business, but in life.
Together, they set out to create a positive business and work environment that embodied the principles of fairness, respect, and dependability. Ed & Ina believe, “These qualities are crucial for attracting wonderful employees and fantastic customers. Essentially, creating an environment that’s ideal can yield a level of success that is ideal. In the end, everyone benefits. Our employees are happy, our customers are happy, and Ina and I can feel proud of the business we’ve built and the family we’ve created with our employees as well as our customers.”
A Successful Journey
The journey began in 1972, over the next 15 years, Ed & Ina tirelessly learned the ins and outs of the automotive business, working diligently to learn what it took to run a successful business in the automotive industry.
The opportunity to purchase a dealership came along in 1987 over the next 18 years Ed & Ina worked hard to create a business unlike any other.
Their goals were simple:
- Eliminate the negativity people have towards purchasing a car (Integrity)
- Never loose sight of what is affordable to our customers (Reliability)
- Take an ownership role, even if you are not an owner (Dedication)
These three basic goals incorporate the Golden Rule principle at the core of Northwest Honda, BMW & Suzuki — which is why today the dealerships is known as The Golden Rule Dealerships.
The Future
In 1997, due to a high number of requests and demand for foreign and high-end vehicles, Ed and Ina decided to expand their business and create Northwest BMW . By understanding the needs of their customers, community, and employees they grew their business on the same principle philosophies as it was originated, and fortunately, it has been met with same great level of success.
With each passing year, Ed, Ina, Josh & Danny’s enthusiasm and passion for the business, industry, and customers has grown, which is evident today in the successful business they have built — a “Golden” business built on the basic principles of integrity, dedication, and reliability.
